Riikka (PhD, MA, music) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Education and Social Research Institute (2018-2019) funded by the Post Doc Pool, Finland. She has worked as a musician, as a class teacher and as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Helsinki. She has written on children’s perspectives and the materiality of education and developed participatory and post-qualitative approaches within childhood studies. She is currently involved in research projects focusing on child-animal relations (the AniMate project led by Pauliina Rautio, University of Oulu) and children’s digital assemblages (postdoctoral research). Her further research interests include multispecies ethnography, feminist posthumanist storytelling and affirmative critique.
